The Reverend Dr. Bill Hayes is the Pastor of Edgewood. Bill is from Rock Hill, SC and attended Erskine College in Due West SC and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in 1984 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1991. Since his Ordination in 1984 Bill has served Smyrna Presbyterian in Reidsville NC, Wentworth Presbyterian in Wentworth, NC, and Hopewell Presbyterian in Florence, SC. Bill and his wife, Sally, came to Edgewood in 2012.
Besides being a minister, Bill has also taught school, been a Insurance Agent, worked as a EC Teachers Assistant with the Rockingham County Schools, been a One on One CAP worker with disabled children, and director of the Reidsville Outreach Center in Reidsville, NC.
Bill believes that God is in the business of changing lives, changing neighborhoods, and changing the world. As we worship God, study God’s word, fellowship with God and each other, and serve others with the love God has blessed us with, we participate in God’s mission of love, salvation, and peace in our community and the world.
